As some concerned Nigerians brace up for a planned protests in the country, the president, Providence Coalition, a socio-political group in Oyo state, Prince Niran Adeyoju (SDM) has issued a heartfelt appeal to the organizers of the upcoming demonstrations, urging them to reconsider and shelve their planned national protest.
Prince Adeyoju in statement personally signed and made available to newsarena.ng by the coalition publicity secretary, David Oluokun said there might be potential risks associated with the planned protests.
Adeyoju’s appeal comes in the wake of recent social media mobilization by some faceless groups for a planned national protest in various regions of the country, which has heightened concerns about public safety and social stability.
The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo who is a well-known advocate for social justice and national unity acknowledged that the current volatile atmosphere in Nigeria, where economic challenges has become a concern has already placed significant strain on Nigerians.
He said, in its quest to take Nigeria to her enviable position, the present Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led Federal government was trying everything legally possible to address the issues, calling for more understanding of Nigerians.
Prince Adeyoju fondly called SDM argued that another round of protests could exacerbate the situation, leading to unintended consequences that might undermine the very goals the protesters aim to achieve.
He expressed optimism that the concerns of organizers of the planned protest have been heard loud and clear by the president, expressing hope that president would intensify efforts at ensuring Prosperity of the country.
“We are all aware of the pressing issues in our country, however, in these trying times, we must exercise caution and seek alternative avenues for advocating our causes. It is imperative that we avoid actions that could potentially inflame the situation.”
While speaking on the impact of previous protests, Prince Adeyoju noted that, while they have historically succeeded in drawing attention to critical issues, they have also resulted in unintended collateral damage, including disruptions to daily life and economic activities.
Adeyoju suggested that the organizers explore dialogue-based approaches, engaging with government officials and community leaders to address grievances constructively..
