Remembrance: Family, Well Wishers Pay Tribute To Owner Of Awojobi Hospital, Late Oluyombo Awojobi As Wife Turns 70

It was a gathering of Crème de la crème, Medical Doctors, Associates, Scholars, Captains of Industries, Health Workers, notable Nigerians both within and in Diaspora, Traditional Ruler, Ministers of God, Friends, Family, Awojobi Clinic Staff, Indigenes & Residents of Eruwa, and Ibarapa Land as they gathered at the Adeloye Ajayi Auditorium, Awojobi Clinic, Eruwa for a three in one event which marked the 70th Birthday of Princess Atinuke Olatundun Awojobi, the 74th Posthumous Birthday of the Renowned and uncommon Surgeon, Late Dr. Oluyombo Adetilewa Awojobi and his 10th Year Memorial held on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
In an atmosphere full of gratitude to God for the Awojobis, whom many described as blessings to humanity and Ibarapa community in particular, the joyous celebration which began with a thanksgiving service conducted by Antioch Baptist Church, Eruwa through the Minister-in-Charge, Rev. O.A. Oyatoki was eventful and could be tagged as a day of tribute to the Late and living Icon personalities, Dr. Oluyombo Adetilewa Awojobi and his wife, Princess Atinuke Olatundun Awojobi.

In his sermon at the occasion, Pastor Matthew Ola, the Senior Pastor, Breath of Life Ministries, advised Teenagers and the Youth to discover their God given talent and nurture it to greatness. He stated that without discovering the God’s giving talent, it will be difficult for one to be relevant.
He noted that the Awojobi’s were relevant because of their ability to discover the God’s given value. Pastor Ola encouraged the people to build a good and enduring legacies for the future.
Presenting the biography, Princess Adeola Makanjuola recounted key moments in Princess Atinuke Awojobi’s life, her impact on her community, and her unwavering dedication to faith, family, and God’s service while praying God to increase her strength more and more unto many good works.
High point of the event included testimonies by some of the dignitaries as they took turn to share memories and experiences with Princess Atinuke Awojobi and her late husband which highlighted the deep admiration and respect held for the celebrant.
Prince Muyiwa Makanjuola, representing the immediate family, shared fond memories and expressed appreciation for the wife’s unwavering support. Dr. Jumoke Lawal, speaking as an in-law, commended Evang. (Mrs.) Awojobi for her kindness and wisdom, while Barrister Segun Adebayo, a neighbour, reflected on her role as a pillar of the community.
Other tributes came from Mrs. A. S. Olaniyan, representing the church of the celebrant Antioch Baptist Church, She hinted that the celebrant is a very cheerful person who despite her influence took pleasure in serving at the children department of the church. Mr. Paul Ako standing in for the Awojobi Clinic, Eruwa (ACE) Staff noted that the celebrant who has been holding forth ever since her husband glorious exit has never delayed staff salaries.
He added that Princess Atinuke Awojobi is very supportive and caring.
In his tribute, the Alara of Ara, Oba Dr. Adesola noted that the Awojobis were being celebrated because they are relevant to their community.
He therefore charged the people to emulate their virtues.
Mrs. Alice Makinde, speaking on behalf of friends, and Dr. Ayodele Awojobi, who represented the children described Princess Atinuke Awojobi as an exemplary mother with emotional intelligence, God fearing, prayer champion, God sent, cheerful giver and given to the welfare of the people.
Mrs. Toyin Odepe who spoke on behalf of those in diaspora, described Princess Awojobi as humility personified whose impact, simplicity and sincerity have impacted several lives including herself and she prayed God to grant her greater wisdom as she advances in age.
Prayers were offered for the celebrant, Awojobi’s family and the Church of God by the Chairman, Ibadan Baptist Conference, Rev J.A. Ayoola, Rev. Kolawole and the pioneer Bishop for Ibarapa, Methodist Church, Nigeria, Rt. Rev. Dr. Sunday Funminiyi Johnson.
After the thanksgiving services friends and dignitaries were treated to a sumptuous meal and light musical entertainment at the same venue.
The celebration served as a testament to the celebrant’s remarkable journey, inspiring legacy, and many lives touched, while many described the event as a day of tribute to a woman and renowned Surgeon who dedicated themselves to uplifting others and making lasting impact on the people.
