Ibarapa Born Ambassador Mobolaji Ogundero Donates Encyclopedia, Cash Gift To OYSCATECH

Igboora born Ambassador Mobolaji Ogundero has donated different volumes of Encyclopedia Britannica and cash gift to Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.

In her presentation, the Donor, Ambassador Ogundero (nee Akinlabi) described the donation as a dream come true having considered the necessity to plough back into her home town – Igboora.

According to her, the donation of Different volumes of encyclopedia would assist Students and Researchers from within and without to access it as part of the library resources at Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.

Receiving the donation, the Rector of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi appreciated the kind gesture of Ambassador Mobolaji Ogundero, describing it as a significant contribution from his elder sister.

Prof. Akinlabi noted that the donation re-echoes their parents love for education as demonstrated by Ambassador Mobolaji Ogundero.

Akinlabi noted that Encyclopedia is a global leader in education and development while its donation to OYSCATECH library will further assist researchers, students and indigenes of Ibarapa.

According to him, the Encyclopedia will serve as educational asset to my father land while calling on Students and researchers to patronize the OYSCATECH Library in order to utilize the various resources therein including the different volumes of encyclopedia Britannica.

In his contribution, the Dean, Faculty of Management and Communication, Mr. Adeleke described the donation as a priceless gift which is far more than money.

He decried the poor reading culture among adolescent.

Mr. Adeleke therefore pledged his support towards improving Students’ reading culture in OYSCATECH through enlightenment on the need to visit the books.

The Olu-Aso of Iberekodo, HRM. Jamiu Badmus, the Olu-Aso of Iberekodo Land, Igboora commended Ambassador Ogundero for her kind gesture while praying God to increase her greatness as she goes about in her service to humanity.

In his closing remarks, the Registrar, Mr. R. F. A. Adeniji lauded the donor while calling on other notable sons and daughters of Ibarapa to emulate the kind gesture by Ambassador Ogundero.

Also present at the occasion are Pastor Abiodun Ogundero, the Husband to the donor, Alhaji Sulaiman Buhari (Asela), Olori Segilola Badmus, Mrs Funmilayo Buhari and Hon. Buhari Olakunle Bello.

Others include; Mr. Moshood Buhari, Hon. Jide Buhari, Mr. Abideen Ayinde, Prince Fuad Bidmos, Mrs Sekinah Adejuwon and the entire Management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora which include: the Registrar, Mr. R. F. A. Adeniji, the Bursar, Mr. Modupe Ogundapo, Director of Works & Services, Engr. Adeniran Salaam, acting Librarian , Mr. Rasak Oyewo, Secretary to Management, Mr. Olajire Gbadamosi.

Ambassador Mobolaji Ogundero has over three decades of extensive experience in government service. She served as Charge D’ Affaires, a.i. Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary at the Embassy of Nigeria, Washington DC, where she strengthened bilateral ties with the United States.

She also served as Ambassador/Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Nigeria, Berlin, Germany, fostering diplomatic relations and promoting trade between Nigeria and Germany. She was the Minister/ Head of Chancery, Embassy of Nigeria, Budapest, Hungary.

Moreover, her role as Director of the Permanent Secretary’s Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs involved overseeing administrative functions and providing strategic guidance to support ministry operations. She holds a specialized training from the Foreign Service Academy in diplomacy, international relations, and protocol. Additionally, she is a proud member of the Nigerian Diplomatic Service Association.

She is also a distinguished Fellow of the National Defense College Nigeria.

Throughout her career, she has showcased exceptional leadership in various roles within the Federal Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Cooperation and Integration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and diplomatic missions abroad.

She is recognized for her ability to adeptly foster cooperation, facilitate diplomatic initiatives, and represent Nigeria’s interests with integrity and excellence.

Ambassador Ogundero is a quintessential diplomat, who has led missions and represented Nigeria at international fora with diverse stakeholders.

Additionally, her strategic planning skills have enabled her to formulate and implement plans that advance Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives, enhance bilateral and multilateral relationships, and promote economic cooperation.

Furthermore, her extensive experience in personnel management has contributed to fostering a conducive work environment that maximizes staff performance and productivity.

Born in Igbo – Ora, the Ibarapa Central Local Government of Oyo State.

She is married to a strong support, Pastor Solomon Abiodun Ogundero.
