BREAKING: INEC Receives Sensitive Materials Ahead Of Saki West Rerun Election.

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Oyo state has taken delivery of sensitive and non sensitive materials to be used for Saturday’s Saki West state constituency Rerun Election.

Newsarena.ng reports that the materials were received at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Dugbe Ibadan amidst tight security before representatives of major political parties, INEC administrative secretary, Mr Agboola Razaq and other stakeholders.

Speaking with journalists shortly after receiving the materials, resident electoral commissioner in Oyo state, Dr Adeniran Tella said the commission received six cartons of materials containing ballot papers, result sheet and replacement forms.

Dr. Tella who said the commission was using two BVAS with two back ups for the exercise hinted that the commissioner of police in Oyo state, Hamzat Adebola had promised the deployment of 182 police officers.

Reacting, the All Progressives Congress, APC representative, Mr Tajudeen Olanite and his People’s Democratic Party, PDP counterpart, Mr Abiodun Popoola expressed satisfaction with the delivery of the materials.

Rerun into Saki West state constituency is as a result of cancellation of results due to over-voting in polling units 006; by-passing of BVAS during election accreditation and margin of lead between the two candidates which were low with the total number of PVC’s collected

Newsarena.ng reports that the margin of lead was 233 which resulted in tribunal’s judgement to declare Rerun in the Saki West assembly of assembly election.
