Your Effort At Turning Villages To Towns Commendable – Power Minister, Adelabu, Hails Ilaji Boss, Dotun Sanusi
Power minister, Adebayo Adelabu, has commended Engr. Dotun Sanusi, owner of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Akanran, for his efforts aimed at turning villages to towns.
Speaking at a reception held in his honour by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, Friday evening, the former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, urged many well-to-do people in the society to emulate Sanusi, who is also an Ibadan mogaji and Otun Apesinola of Ibadanland.
Nigerian Tribune quoted him as saying “Also, I want to commend the Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Resorts, Engineer Dotun Sanusi for collaborating with the government in the area of rural electrification especially with the donation of over 85 transformers to various communities in the state,” the minister had said.
Pledging his readiness to work with Governor Seyi Makinde at the state level in a bid to turn around the state, Adelabu said “I will collaborate with Governor Seyi Makinde at ensuring that he succeeds in his effort to turn the state around.”
Sanusi who spoke alongside others described the situation at the power sector as worrisome and the need for the minister to brace up for the challenges.
Earlier, the President General, CCII, Suleiman Ajewole while praying for Adelabu’s success in his present assignment as the Minister for Power, called on him to join hands with the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde for the progress of Ibadanland and Oyo State in general.
It would be recalled that Sanusi breathed life into Akanran communities by erecting more than 200 electricity poles as well as transformers to bring electricity to the areas. This was at the time his Ilaji Resort, which has become the number one destination for fun seekers, was being birthed.
Disturbed by the plight of rural communities who have been in darkness for years, Sanusi recently distributed 85 transformers and other logistics, a development that has been commended not only by the government but by associations and individuals.
