Wife of the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) , Engr. Popoola Olukayode Joshua (POJ ), Mrs Ruth has solicited the unflinching support of the Hausa community in Ibadan for the victory of NNPP in the 2023 guber poll
POJ, an engineer by profession and a leading governorship candidate in Oyo State became the candidate of the NNPP through affirmation arrangements after emerging unopposed during the party’s primary.
Mrs Ruth Popoola also used the opportunity to meet Arewa women groups where she distributed some gift items.
While appealing to the Hausa community to canvass, mobilise vote for POJ in the 2023 gubernatorial election, Mrs Popoola promised that the youths and women would be given adequate priority if given the mandate.
Mrs Popoola expressed optimism that NNPP would be victorious in next year’s election considering the fact that Nigerians were tired of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and All Progressives Congress, APC in Nigeria
“If my husband happen to emerge as the governor, I’ll ensure that youths and women of Oyo state get trained and certified in a series of trades that could make them self-sufficient as the state can’t provide a job for all.”
The wife of the Oyo State NNPP governorship candidate who is also of the Hausa tribe from Kaduna state had earlier visited the Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland, Ali Dahiru Zungeru before meeting the Arewa community.
Speaking with newsmen, the NNPP Federal Representative candidate for Ibadan North constituency, Hon. Monsurat Naalado Bawa assured Mrs. Popoola that, the Arewa community is solidly behind ( POJ ) as all the Arewa in the state is ready to vote massively for the party come 2023.
