A compassionate appointment has been extended to the widow of Dickson Dike, the first outrider to the Commandant-general of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), who died in a terrible collision while trying a stunt on Wednesday night.

During a mourning visit to the family of the deceased officer in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, Civil Defense chief Ahmed Audi announced the planned offer to Mrs. Peace Adaeze Dickson Dike, a mother of two children, explaining that it was made to help her fill the vacuum left by her late husband.

The CG stated that he will make sure that the deceased Dickson’s life insurance and burial benefits are paid as soon as possible. He also pledged to cover all of the funeral costs.

He said, “I championed the payment of insurance benefits to personnel when I came on board as the Commandant-general in 2021 and Dickson’s case will not be an exception. Madam, please be comforted, we will try our best. We will not leave you alone but assist you during this trying period.

He called Dickson a hero who lost his life while serving his country.
