There was tension in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, at early hours of Tuesday 23rd April, 2024 over alleged shooting of a student by a yet to be identified security agent.
The incident occured at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso.
It was gathered that a security agent allegedly gunned down the student and injured two others.
According to an eye witness, the incident occurred when the security agent was invited to settle a misunderstanding between two people in the school.
Attempting to settle the matter, the officer was said to have shot sporadically into the air which led to the death of a student while two students were wounded.
The incident triggered a riot as students locked the school gates in protest, demanding justice for the deceased.
