Sen. Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has expressed profound grief over the death of Chief Rasaq Olatunde, the Alafua of Igboora and an APC Chieftain in Ibarapa Central Local Government.
This is stated in a statement provided to journalists on Thursday in Ibadan, which was signed by his Special Advisor on Media, Akeem Abas.
In his village of Igboora, Chief Rasaq Olatunde, also referred to as O’Gadabu, was said to have departed on Sunday, November 5.
Alli said that the late Olatunde, who until his death was the Alafua of Igboora, will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
The lawmaker said that the news of Olatunde’s demise has left him and his entire team devastated, as they mourn the loss of a dear friend and partner.
He described the late Olatunde as a dedicated and passionate leader, who profoundly impacted the lives of the people.
“As a committed member of the APC, Olatunde contributed immensely to the growth and success of the party at the grassroots level
“His deep-rooted connection with the people and his unwavering support for Senator Alli’s political aspirations will be dearly missed, ” he said.
Alli said that Olatunde’s demise has created a huge vacuum in the political landscape of Ibarapa Central Local Government.
He expressed condolences to the bereaved family, urging them to take solace in the fact that Olatunde lived a life of purpose and impact.
“I am appealing to APC members Ibarapa Central Local Government to remain united during this difficult time.
“They should reflect on the late Olatunde’s legacy and continue to strive for the progress as well as development of their community,” he said.
The lawmaker, who condoled with the family, prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul Al-Jannat Firdaos.
Alli prayed that Allah grant the family, APC, political associates and friends the fortitude to bear the huge loss.
