Residents of Oyo town affected by the heavy rainfall which started on Thursday night, lasting till Friday afternoon non stop have cried out to the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA and its Oyo state counterpart, SEMA to come to their aid.
They said the prolonged downpour has made many of them homeless and cut some communities, particularly in Oyo East local government area, away from the rest part of the city.
Newsarena.ng, Kayode Oguntona gathered that bridges linking the affected communities to Akinmoorin and Idigba had also been washed away in the flood that accompanied the rainfall.
According to one of the Community leaders, Alhaji Wahab Ogundele, a timely response from government and relevant agencies would go a long way in reducing the pains caused by the disaster.
