PHOTOS: Ibarapa North LG Chairman, Hon Akorede Swears-In Councillors As Olojede Emerges House Leader

The chairman, Ibarapa North Local Government area of Oyo state, who recently won his reelection as a Council boss, Hon. Lateef Akorede has sworn-in the councilors of the council.

At the colourful event held at the Executive Wing of the council Secretariat, Ayete, Hon. Akorede was accompanied by his Vice, Hon. Bisi Akande and the leaders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, across the ten wards of the Council.

In his keynote address, the Ibarapa North Local Government chairman, Hon. Lateef Akorede congratulated the councilors and admonished them to see their position as a clarion call to serve the people of their respective wards who elected them.

The number one citizen of Ibarapa North Local Government said that he would improve in the provision of dividends of democracy to the good people of the council.

The council boss also promised to work in tandem with the councilors to address the needs of Ibarapa North Local Government residents.

He specially expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde; Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin; Hon. Anthony Adepoju, Ibarapa Kan and Hon. Peter Gbadegesin Ojedokun.

Also in her address, the former Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon Funmilayo Orisadeyi warned the councilors to team up with the Chairman so as to take the council to greater heights.

The vice chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Bisi Akande, in his own word appreciated all the attendees particularly the party leaders. He stressed the need for all and sundry to collaborate with the administration of Hon. Akorede’s second term in office, noting that democratic dividends would soon circulate.

However, Hon. Abdul-Fatai Olojede was elected through consensus as the leader of the house.
