The UBEC-SUBEB Model Smart School in Ibadan will hold its entrance examinations for Early Childhood Care Development Education, ECCDE, Primary and Computer Based Test, CBT, for Junior Secondary School levels on September 16, 2024.
Speaking in Ibadan, the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran said the board expects a large turnout of prospective learners.
The Model Smart School, located at Sogunro, Ibadan is co-owned by the Universal Basic Education Commission and the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board.
Adeniran said the exercise will see the children attempting the examination on devices provided by the smart school.
Dr. Adeniran emphasised that “the prestigious UBEC-SUBEB Model Smart School offers free and quality basic education”.
He urged parents to take full advantage of opportunity presented by the school “which is committed to equipping students with 21st-century skills through its modern computer gadgets and innovative teaching methods.”
Dr. Adeniran said officers from the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, will also be present at the centre to observe the CBT exam.
Adeniran who said some parents have registered their children via www.oyostatesmartschool.com, urged other interested parents to register their children before the examination date.
Meanwhile, Dr. Adeniran has expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the just concluded EIDU pilot programme for 25 staff of the board.
The programme, attended by selected Head teachers, class teachers and Quality Assurance officers from Ona-ara, Iseyin, Ogbomoso South, and Ibadan South West, is aimed at equipping them with necessary digital skills, in preparation for the new session.
Applauding EIDU Digital Learning Programme organisers, he said, “this intervention program will ensure we improve the manner with which we teach our pupils”.
The Senior Education Officer, EIDU, Mr. Silas Armandos said the participants are expected to apply what they have learnt in schools.
He revealed that the participants will go back to classes with Android phones, and relevant teaching materials.
