Traditional Rites For Burial Of Osun Monarch Begin

Traditional rites preluding the interment of the Owa- Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran have begun.

As part of the rites, a seven day curfew from 10 “0′ clock in the evening to 6 “0′ clock in the morning has started today, while 3 days closure of the markets across Ijesaland has been declared by the agba ijesas.

The Ogboni of Ipole, Oba Oyebade Oyeleye disclosed this at a mini conference at the Adimula’s palace.

Aged 87, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, the 48th Owa Obokun in ijesaland was installed on the 20th February, 1982.

He succeed Oba Peter Adetunji Agunlejika, who reigned between 1912 and 1981.

The former Deputy Permanent Secretary in the old Oyo state and a publisher of over 100 titles was the first traditional ruler with Ph.D in Nigeria.
