Orita-Aperin Market Fire: Kola-Daisi Commiserates With Victims

A grassroots politician and financial expert, Oloye Kolapo Kola-Daisi has expressed shock over the recent fire outbreak that engulfed popular Orita Aperin market in Ibadan.

Oloye Kolapo Kola-Daisi made this known in reaction to the extent of damage done on the market.

He said he was saddened by the tragic incident, noting that the devastating fire had left behind a trail of destruction, robbing hardworking traders of their livelihood.

He said “I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident that befell our beloved community at the Orita Aperin market this week. The devastating fire has left behind a trail of destruction, robbing hardworking traders of their livelihoods and causing immense despair.

“This is one blow too much.

“During my recent campaign in Oyo South Senatorial district, I remember how I was humbled by the overwhelming love and support shown to me by the people of the Orita Aperin market. Therefore, my heart really goes out to all the victims who have suffered losses of goods and valuables worth millions of Naira.

“I urge both the government and everyone of us to rally round the victims of this fire in the most appropriate way we can, and extend a helping hand to support them in getting back on their feet.

“As we extend our hands to support the victims, I also express hope and prayers that such devastating fires do not occur again. Let’s seize the moment to reinforce safety measures and assessments, particularly in light of the fire-friendly weather conditions.
