Oramalugo’s Led Oyo-Osun Customs Command Records Biggest Success Since Assumption Of Duty

The Oyo Osun command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted Cannabis Sativa worth over one hundred and forty eight million naira .

The Area controller of the command, Dr Ben Oramalugo stated this at a press briefing held at the command’s headquarters, Agodi Ibadan.

Dr Oramalugo said the wraps of cannabis sativa were concealed under two hundred sacks of sawdust in a DAF truck along Ilero area of Oyo state.

While urging parents and care givers to collaborate with the command at fighting illicit drug , the comptroller said such a step would enable the youths to efficiently contribute their quota to development of the nation

Dr Oramalugo also itemized other seized items to include premium motor spirit, foreign parboiled rice, used tyres, used clothings, three trucks and a used Mazda car 626 all worth seven hundred and thirteen million, one hundred and fifty thousand, four hundred naira.

While explaining that the seizure was the largest success recorded since his resumption into the command in September 2023 , the comptroller attributed the success to the adoption of various technological innovations and collaboration with other security agents.

The seized cannabis sativa were later handed to the national drug law enforcement agency , Ndlea.

Receiving the items, the assistant commander , Narcotics, of NDLEA,, Mr Terry Wokoma assured that the items would be destroyed.

Highlight of the conference was the distribution of commendation letter to twelve officers that made the seizure possible .

The supervisors of the assignment, Mr Patrick Ibe and Isreal Oyabambi assured the command of their continued support at curbing smuggling
