Olorunsogo LG Chairman, Olayanju Begins Repairs Of Council’s Faulty Earth Moving Equipment

The executive chairman, Olorunsogo local government area of Oyo state, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju has begun the repair of all the faulty and abandoned earth moving equipment in the local government.

According to findings, the 33 Local Governments, and 35 LCDAs in the state have some earth moving equipment such as Tractors, Excavators cat, D6 Bulldozers, Low bed Trailers, and others but, lack of maintenance has made many of the equipment non-functional and grounded in almost all the local government government and LCDA Secretariats.

Upon his resumption as council chairman, Hon. Olayanju embarked on repairing and servicing all the earth-moving equipment in Olorunsogo local government with a target of providing easy access to communities, farms so as to ensure easy movement of farm produce to the major markets in the council area.

Speaking with journalists after the inspection of the equipment, Olayanju said that the purpose of the repair and servicing was also to reinforce his stance on the need to create and sustain infrastructure in the council area.

“I don’t see the reason why we should not manage our roads, the state government is trying on road construction, so the local government also needs to complement in maintaining the roads.

“In my local government, we have Tractors, Excavators cat, D6 Bulldozers , Low bed Trailers, and others that, are not in good condition, but, it still repairable and serviceable and we are fixing it all, if all these start working perfectly, I am sure we will go a long way in fixing some of the major problems.

“Some of this equipment when fixed will be able to create and maintain roads to many communities and farms, also useful for grading, creating slopes, and cutting trenches and other incisions into the ground.

Olayanju, said, all the abandoned and grounded equipment in his local government will be available for use before the end of next week.
