Speaking during the inspection of work, Hon Olayanju said many of the reported cases of kidnapping, banditry and illegal mining in the council were carried out in the forest reserves and remote areas which are usually difficult for Amotekun operatives to quickly respond to, due to the distance from their main office to affected areas.

Olayanju said in line with the recruitment of new Amotekun forest rangers by governor Makinde, his administration decided to construct the Amotekun outpost, to be established at strategic areas, within federal government reserve areas where criminally minded people hibernate to perpetrate their crimes.

He said “with the new deployment of Amotekun forest rangers to Olorunsogo, we now have over 80 plus officers, so our plan is to liaise with Amotekun to deploy officers to man these posts and tackle security challenges when need arises”

He however charged the Amotekun Forest rangers to be civil with residents of the council but rid Igbeti and Oke Ogun in general off criminal elements and activities.

Hon. Olayanju who praised the governor for approving the deployment of the highest number of Amotekun rangers to Olorunsogo, also eulogized him for his decision to establish an airstrip in Igbeti.
