The leadership and entire membership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ FRCN Ibadan Chapel, have received with profound shock and sadness the death of our Financial Secretary, Com Olalekan Quadri Olayiwola.
Com Olayiwola was a dedicated member of the Executive, a thorough bred Journalist, committed Unionist and valued member of the Chapel before becoming an Exco member who contributed immensely to the growth, unity and administration of the Union during his lifetime.
His death would no doubt create a painful vacuum within the Chapel and the wider journalism community. We will particularly miss his dedication to duty, commitment to professional ethics, camaraderie and service to colleagues.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, friends, colleagues and associates at this difficult moment. We can only take solace in the worthy memories and contributions he left behind.
As a Chapel, we pray that the Almighty God will grant the family and all of us the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and grant our departed colleague eternal rest.
Com Olalekan Quadri Olayiwola may be gone, but the memories of the life of service and contributions to the NUJ FRCN Ibadan Chapel will remain with us.
