Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has called for collaboration among sisters agencies in promoting national security within Nigeria.
The NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi stated while delivering a lecture at the Second strategic lecture organized by the University of Ibadan with the theme, “the role of the NSCDC in promoting National Security in Nigeria.
The NSCDC boss explained that As the country is facing numerous security challenges such as terrorism, insurgency, infrastructure sabotage, and community unrest the is need for synergy among security agencies to collectively wage war against insecurity.
Dr Audi said NSCDC has become a key institution in safeguarding national critical assets and infrastructure as well as enhancing public safety, hence the need for public collaboration through intelligence gathering as as they are closer to the grassroots.
He noted that, though, the Government has provided some mechanisms, the corps still needed some equipments to ease the task enshrined on them.
Dr Audi, therefore, called on all security stakeholders to come on board and partner NSCDC at ensuring that lives and property of the citizens remain safe and secured.
