Makinde’s Victory Has Shown Unity In Religious Diversity – Mogaji Adanla Tells Oyo Islamic Community
The Turaki adini of oyo state and Wakil Faido Tijaniya Movement Yorubaland Edo and delta, Engr Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem, Mogaji Adanla has commended the courage and passion of the Islamic community in Oyo state as reflected in the outcome of the just concluded governorship/state assembly elections in the state.
This was as the Spokesperson for the Mogajis in Ibadanland reiterated his commitment to the overall welfare and wellbeing of the Muslim community in the state saying his doors remain open to them anytime they feel their wellbeing was being jeopardized or threatened.
He however, stressed that the Governor Seyi Makinde has had long standing relationship with will not implement any policy or programs that will undermine the welfare of the Muslim community or threatens the religious harmony Oyo state has enjoyed from time immemorial.
The religious leader gave this commendation in a press statement made available to journalists in Ibadan on Monday morning, March 20, saying Governor Makinde deserves his hard earned election victory.
“I want to specially thank our Muslim Ummah in Ibadanland and across the state for their show of love, passion, and support for Governor Seyi Makinde and his government as evidently reflected in the outcome of the just concluded governorship and state assembly elections.
“I equally want to assure you that as always, the Seyi Makinde that I know will continue to protect the welfare and wellbeing of the Islamic community across the state and in the event you discover being shortchanged, my doors are widely opened to you as I will not hesitate to call the governor’s attention to such. Once again, congratulations to us all and welcome on board Omituntun 2.0.” Mogaji Adanla said.
While expressing special gratitude to God for the outcome of the election, Mogaji Adanla said, Oyo state has clearly demonstrated that no individual or group of person has the power to enthrone anybody except God through the will of the people.
He maintained that it was soul satisfying and religiously gratifying to note that despite the onslaught and attacks targeted at discrediting Makinde’s unprecedented success in less than four years using religion as a bait, the people of Oyo state particularly Ibadanland have practically proved to the world that we remain united even in our religious diversity.
While equally expressing gratitude to his group of Mogaji colleagues who worked tirelessly to ensure peace reigned in Ibadan especially at the community based level, before, during, and after the election, Mogaji Adanla urged residents to freely put the election behind and return to their normal lives.
He noted that elections are merely a game and should not be taken personally especially when elections are over urging religious leaders and clerics both Christian and Muslim, and Traditional worshipers to continue to support Governor Makinde in his bid to take Oyo state to a more greater height under Omituntun 2.0.
“We’re very grateful to Almighty and Merciful Allah (SWAS), who has graciously acceded to our prayers and supplications to return Governor Seyi Makinde for us as the Executive Governor because of his sterling performance in office in less than three four years.
“The practical developments and delivery of good governance permeating every corner of the state zone by zone were not meant for any political party or religious body but for the good people of Oyo state.
“The outcome of the election which is unprecedented in our collective political history for a political candidate to clear out all 31 local government areas landslide out of 33 will surely go down in history. This has clearly demonstrated the will of the people far outweighs the politicians which implies that the resolve of the people can never be stopped by any individual or group of politicians.” Adanla concluded.
