Iyaloja General, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo Enrols 5,000 Students Under Tertiary Scholarship Scheme
In fulfilment of her promise to give scholarship to children of the less privileged in Nigeria, especially the children of Nigerian market men and women, the Iyaloja General Of Nigeria, Chief Mrs. Folasade Tinubu-Ojo has given educational scholarship to 5,000 beneficiaries by paying (2/3) two third of 5,000 students school fees in several millions of naira.
Our Correspondent reports that the beneficiaries under the first phase of the scheme, admitted in two tranches, have resumed academic session to study different courses at university, monotechnic and college of Education levels.
Speaking during the resumption ceremony of the new batch of students, the Iyaloja General Of Nigeria appealed to the beneficiaries to maintain high moral standards and be good ambassordors of the scheme, and make their parents proud in order not to waste the efforts of the sponsor.
Represented by the Iyaloja Iba LCDA, Lagos State, Folasade Adedeji Ogidigbo, described Chief Mrs Tinubu-Ojo efforts at different directions helping the weak and needy as commendable.
She said the initiative is a private efforts to support the Federal government at boosting the education sector in the country and to serve as a palliatives for the removal of fuel subsidy.
“Of course that is unavoidable for the genuine growth and development of Nigeria, but the temporary hardship therefore, must not throw the children of hardworking market women and other Nigerians to the streets, which inturn may put the entire country in danger.” She explained
She expressed belief that the Education of our youth population must be a priority that should not be left in the hands of the government alone.
While commending the proprietor of Foreign Links Campus, Dr Fola Akinosun for his consistency and role in coordinating the epoch making endeavour to support the downtrodden, Chief Folasade Tinubu Ojo appealed to the students to exhibit high sense of good behavior and shun any form of social vices.
She hinted that she was committed to doing more for the younger generation, with a view to making Nigeria a better society.
Reacting, a philanthropist and Founder, Foreign links campus Moro, Osun State, Dr Fola Akinosun described the oyaloja General of Nigeria as a wonderful replacement who took after her mother ; Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji of blessed memory.
Extensive prayer was then organised for the repose of the soul of Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji during the ocation.
For the society to adequate prioritise education as an instrument of nation building, Dr. Fola Akinosun praised the efforts of the Iyaloja General Of Nigeria and encourage the affluent in our society to join hands with the present administration of president Bola Amed Tinubu by sponsoring Qualitative education, especially , at the tertiary levels.
Dr Akinosun said Chief Mrs Tinubu-Ojo is the Abibat Mogaji of our time and she will do exceedingly more than her late mother in different aspects of support to humanity.
He instilled confidence in the Tinubu lead administration, that Nigeria will be a greater country sooner than people would expect.
