The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has presented certificate of return to Govenor Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the Osun Governorship election.
Giving his acceptance speech, the govenor -elect and the incumbent governor of Osun state , Senator Ademola Adeleke thanked Osun people , and INEC for their roles which made the election successful.and credible.
He expressed sadness over those who lost their lifes during the electioneering process and announced scholarship for their children.
The govenor-elect said he had forgiven those who offended ihim.n the struggle for the election saying since God has fought for him he had no reason to nurse grudge against anyone.
Senator Adeleke appreciated President Bola Tinubu for allowing the will of Osun voters to prevail.. He called on other contestants in the election to join hands with him to move the state forward.
Earlier.in.a remark, INEC national commissioner, Professor .Kunle Ajayi who presented the certificate of return to the govenor -elect .and his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi stressed that through technology and cooperation of other stakeholdersINEC had achieved credible election in the state
In a welcome address,.Osun state Resident Electoral commissioner, Mrs Toyin Babalola said the presentation of certification of return which is the concluding part of the Osun 2026 election was in accordance with section 72 of the .Electoral Act 2026.
