Oyo state commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade has called for proper mentorship and monitoring of the youths to guide them in making right decisions especially against use of hard drugs.
Prince Oyelade made the call in Ibadan while delivering his speech at the 3rd Forge Camp organized for boys in Ibadan by a non governmental organization, HOSEC foundation

The commissioner said mentorship was important in the life of the youth, noting that there was no way youths can survive without having mentors in your life.

He said many youths make the mistake of adopting mentors from their partners in crime thereby making them to be involved in negative infects, wrong exposure to internet and drugs.
He said “Modern parents grapple with these two vices and many homes have been thrown into chaos and confusion. In the same manner, the lives of brilliant youths with bright future have been destroyed as a result of the unforgiven sin of going into these two vices.
“I am here therefore, to appeal to you, our dear youths to stay off drugs and to admonish and encourage parents to be extra careful and be more diligent by taking interest in what their children watch and read on the Internet. Equally, parents must be extra sensitive to the type of company that their children keep in and out of school.
Prince Oyelade commended the resilient and constant efforts of Hope For Second Chance Foundation, HOSEC for rekindling hope that recovers children from the claws of the devil.
In his goodwill message, representative of the Oyo state ministry of education, science and technology, Engineer Adebayo Salam expressed confident that the experience at the forge camp will not only broaden the horizons of the boys but also awaken and unlock their potentials.
He said “The participants, the 100 boys who have been selected and are the direct beneficiaries of ‘The Forge Camp 3.0’, you are indeed fortunate to be here. You are therefore advised to put the skills and knowledge acquired in the course of this training to good use. Be proactive, ask questions, make friends, know that the connections made here will last a lifetime and shape your future endeavors.
Earlier in a welcome address, the convener and Executive Director, Hope For Second Chance Foundation, HOSEC, Mrs Ibukunoluwa Otesile said the aim of the camp was to prepare the boy child to become good ambassadors of their families and the society at large.
Mrs Otesile said the programme will provide mentorship to the boys and teach them necessary skills for them to get better
