Some students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU) Ile Ife have stormed the premises of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Ibadan, protesting against what they described as the illegal arrest of their fellow students.
The protesting students in their numbers armed with placards of various inscriptions, demanded an immediate and unconditional release of the arrested students.
The EFCC had reportedly arrested over 70 students in a midnight raid on hostels outside the campus.
Multiple sources in Ile-Ife confirmed to our newsmen on Wednesday morning that the EFCC officials from Ibadan, around 2 a.m., stormed the Fine Touch and Superb hostels in Oduduwa Estate, Ile-Ife, broke into rooms, and arrested the students
Some of the students who spoke with newsmen also alleged that during the raid, the EFCC officers removed the CCTV cameras attached to the hostels.
