Court Adjourns Oyo Deputy Gov’s Impeachment Case Till Wednesday.

Oyo state high court, sitting in Ibadan has on Tuesday adjourned till Wednesday July 6 a case brought before it by the deputy governor of Oyo State, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan.

Olaniyan is challenging the impeachment process embarked on by the state house of Assembly.

Recall that the court in its last ruling directed that the status quo should remain, stopping the house from taking further steps.

Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court gave the adjournment to allow for the Claimant counsel to file a reaction to the responses sent by the Defendants’ lawyers.

Justice Akintola also ruled that the Status quo order earlier given on the impeachment proceedings of the Oyo Deputy Governor subsists.

Newsarena.ng learnt that Chief Afolabi Fashanu appeared for the deputy governor, while Otunba Kunle Kalejaiye led the legal team of the Defendants.
