Brightsville College Ibadan Wins FRCN Kids Football Challenge

Brightsville College Ibadan has won the FRCN Kids Football Challenge for a second consecutive time after defeating Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo in the final of the second edition of the challenge.

In a tensed final played at the Olubadan stadium, Ibadan, Brightsville College Ibadan won 3-2 on penalties after the game ended goalless in regulation time.

Brightsville, who also won the tournament last year, have now emerged winners of both the first and second editions.

Olivet Baptist High School, who won the Oyo zone, had to settle for the overall second position, while Government College Ibadan trashed Baptist Secondary school, Okesanmi 5 nil to claim third place.

Speaking after the games, the All Progressives Congress candidate for Ibadan Southwest state constituency 2, Mr Idris Abiola-Ajimobi, who was a special guest, lauded Radio Nigeria for organizing the competition.

Mr Abiola-Ajimobi urged the students to take full advantage of the competition to sharpen their talents for future purposes.

Also speaking, Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr Dominic Mokikan, represented by the Deputy Director, Marketing Department of the zone, Mr Adewale Afinjuomo, said the competition was part of the station’s commitment towards grooming and development young talents in the society.

3SC Aims For 1st Win Of Season Against El-Kanemi

Highlights of the day were presentation of trophies and medals to the winner, first and second runners up, as well as, presentation of individual awards to outstanding players.

Muhammed Obadare from Community Commercial High School, Ilora was crowned the most valuable player of the tournament, Joshua Kilani of Government College Ibadan emerged as the highest goal scorer with 5 goals, while Brightsville Shot stopper, Quyum Olasupo won the best goalkeeper of the tournament.

Our correspondent reports that both the Highest goal scorer and the best goalkeeper were also presented cash gifts courtesy of Mr Idris Abiola-Ajimobi.
