Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as DON, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, has commended the remarkable infrastructural strides of the administration of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde over the last seven years, describing the governor’s leadership as a turning point in the history of Oyo State.
Oyekunle, in a statement made available to journalists, congratulated Governor Makinde for what he described as “catapulting Oyo State into accelerated growth and development within a short period,” noting that the administration has continued to redefine governance through impactful projects and people-oriented policies.
The federal lawmaker praised the governor for delivering on his vision for a greater Oyo State, especially in the areas of road infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, economy, and urban renewal, adding that the achievements recorded under the administration have positioned the state as one of the fastest-developing states in Nigeria.
According to him, Governor Makinde has demonstrated uncommon leadership capacity, political courage, and commitment to good governance, which has earned him the admiration and support of the people across the state and beyond.
He further stated that the people of Oyo State have consistently stood firmly behind the governor because of his sincerity of purpose and developmental approach to governance, assuring that the support for his leadership would continue.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has not only transformed infrastructure across Oyo State, but he has also restored confidence in governance. His administration has brought visible progress and accelerated development that every resident can testify to,” Oyekunle said.
He added that it is a privilege for Oyo State to have produced a leader of Makinde’s calibre, stressing that the governor’s growing national appeal is a reflection of his outstanding performance in office.
Speaking on the governor’s speculated presidential ambition, Oyekunle declared that Nigeria stands to benefit immensely from Makinde’s leadership style, vision, and administrative experience.
“It is a privilege to have Governor Seyi Makinde throwing his hat into the ring for the presidency. Nigeria needs him now more than ever. His style of governance, infrastructural revolution, and people-centred leadership are qualities needed to reposition the country for greatness,” he added.
The lawmaker concluded by urging residents of the state and Nigerians at large to continue supporting leaders with proven records of performance, accountability, and commitment to national development.
