Encomium As Oyo Reps’ Member, Abass ‘Agboworin’ Empowers Over 200 Women, Youths, PWD

• Provides Start-Up Kits, Cash Support

It was another feat for a Federal lawmaker, member representing Ibadan Northeast, Southeast constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Abass Adigun Agboworin as the two term lawmaker again facilitated vocational training for one hundred youths and women within the constituency.

The beneficiaries were trained on soap, toilet disinfectant and liquid bleach production.

After a two weeks training, beneficiaries were on Saturday, during their graduation ceremony, presented with start up kits including gas cylinders and burners, soap chemical mixer machine worth N250,000 each and a fifty thousand naira (50,000) cash support.

Also at the event, 100 tricycle wheelchairs and 30 crutches were presented to disabled persons within the Ibadan Northeast/southeast Federal constituency.

Newsarena.ng reports that the latest empowerment programme which is the third in the series of youth and women empowerment initiatives of the lawmaker within the last four months, met with encomium from political big wigs in the state.

Speaking at the epoc making event, Wife of Oyo state governor, Mrs Tamunomini Makinde commended Hon Abass Adigun Agboworin for his various laudable programmes being executed for people of Oyo state.

Mrs Makinde said Agboworin’s initiatives were creating opportunities for skill development among youths in Oyo state.

She said “Thank you my brother, Agboworin, for touching the lives of the people. When we did something like this in 2023, people were not as much as this. But today, I can see much people in here. I appreciate him for doing this.”

The Oyo state First Lady advised the beneficiaries to see the training as an opportunity to expand the business into large scale venture, in order to create more opportunities for people of Oyo state

Mrs. Makinde urged other political office holders and stakeholders to invest more in capacity building that will improve the livelihood of Nigerians.

Earlier in an address, the Director General, National Directorate Of Employment, NDE, Sir Silas represented by the Oyo state director, Mrs. Steve-Ogundipe Olayinka applauded Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin for the good works.

She said the lawmaker is passionate and had taught the beneficiaries how to become employers of labour and contribute to the socio-economic development of the state.

Speaking with newsarena.ng shortly after the empowerment programme, the lawmaker, Hon Abass Adigun Agboworin said the business was chosen for beneficiaries because of its importance to household daily consumption.

Hon Agboworin appealed to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the start up kits, to support their husbands in the home front.

Dignitaries who attended the empowerment programme included political appointees, Oyo assembly lawmaker, and PDP stakeholders
