The Vice Chairman of Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Mrs. Ogunleye Grace, has been rescued unhurt after she was allegedly kidnapped yesterday by unidentified hoodlums.
Security agencies said the breakthrough followed a joint operation involving the Police, Military, and other security agencies, working alongside local security personnel.
The team carried out a rescue mission and mounted pressure on the abductors, forcing them to release the victim.
Mrs. Ogunleye was found safe and did not sustain injuries during the incident.
She has since been taken into protective custody for medical checks and debriefing.
The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Mr Falade Adegoroye has directed that a thorough investigation be launched into the abduction.
He said the aim was to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
The command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and pledged to continue working with other security agencies and local communities to tackle criminal activities across the state.
