Oyo state Allied People’s Movement (APM), in alliance with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has unveiled Mr Muftau Open-Salawu as the deputy governorship candidate ahead of 2027 governorship election.

APM governorship candidate, Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi,made the announcement at the party’s Secretariat, Oke Ado, Ibadan.

Unveiling the deputy governorship candidate, Mr Adekanmbi said the pair were selected and prepared to complement each other in sustaining the development agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

Mr Adekanmbi added that the challenges ahead demand a competent team, and that their combined financial and engineering expertise would benefit the state.
In his acceptance speech,the APM deputy governorship candidate, Mr Open-Salawu, stressed the importance of winning the next election and urged aggrieved party members to set aside differences and unite behind the ticket.
Mr. Open-Salawu appreciated the parties for the confidence reposed in him and urged Oyo residents to support the team.
Leaders of the allied parties and elder statesmen present at the event urged members to work for the success of the parties in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
Mr Open-Salawu, born May 10, 1973, hails from Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, is a civil engineer with extensive public service experience.
