100 Days In Office: All Is Set As Olorunsogo LG Chair Commissions Projects, Empowers Widows On Wednesday
Big wigs in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Oyo state, traditional rulers, religious leaders, captains of industries as well as sons and daughters of Olorunsogo local government area of Oyo state will tomorrow, Wednesday converge on Igbeti for a town hall meeting, projects commissioning and empowerment programme for the widows and aged organized by the council chairman, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju.
Some of the dignitaries to grace the much awaited event are the Onigbeti of Igbeti land, HRM Oba Bashir Olalekan Abioye, Siyanbola IV who will be leading other traditional rulers to the event; a prominent and respected PDP stalwart and community leader, Chief JG Adetoro, members of the Olorunsogo legislative arm and heads of security operatives.
It was also gathered that the Onigbeti of Igbeti land will commission the projects.
During the programme which is to mark the 100 days in office of the council chairman, Hon Olayanju will commission two projects in his council area, a newly renovated building for the use of Department of State Service, DSS and that of a community viewing centre in Igbeti.
Olayanju, who was sworn in as the elected council chairman on May 24, 2024, few weeks ago announced the commencement of the renovation of the former Oyo SUBEB building to accommodate the Department of State Services (DSS) in the area.
He said his action was aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing security in the community as well as providing a functional space for the DSS within the local government area.
The Television Viewing Centre, which was renovated and converted to be used as community hall was built by the first executive chairman of Olorunsogo LG under the administration of Hon. Bello Azeez and commissioned by Compol Amen Edore Oyakhire (Psc) on 19th of October 1998, but has been neglected over the years thereby becoming a dilapidated structure.
Olayanju, who is known for his experience and dedication, had earlier handed over to the Police authority a newly constructed building that now serves as the area command headquarters for the Nigeria Police Force in Igbeti.
