A cross section of concerned ogbomoso Muslim youths have staged a peaceful protest to the palace of soun of Ogbomoso to protest against what they described as suspected attempt to remove the Chief Imam of Ogbomoso, Sheik Toliat Ayilara.
The Muslim youths in their hundreds stormed the Soun’s palace at about 5:30 O’clock in the evening on Wednesday, saying they did not want the removal or substitution of the chief imam of Ogbomoso.
Addressing the protesting Muslim youth, representative of soun of Ogbomoso who did not want his name mentioned said there had not been official statement from any quarter to the removal of Shelk Toliat Ayilara, appealing to the concerned family members to go back to their family to resolve any differences.
It would be recalled that the Are Musulumi of Ogbomoso land Alhaji Abdulganiy Owodunni and other Muslim leaders in Ogbomoso had ordered the Ogbomoso central mosque located at Oja’gbo be shut down to allow some internal matters to be resolved amicably.
