Work Towards The Success Of APC In 2023 – Oyo APC Chair, Omodewu, Admonishes “Disciples Of Jagaban (DOJ) Group
Chairman All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, Chief Isaac Omodewu has given assurance that the Party would win the presidential, governorship and other elective positions across the country in the 2023 general election
Chief Omodewu however explained that party faithful across the country must work tirelessly towards the victory of the APC for the presidency, governorship, national and state houses of assemblies in 2023.
He said “The number of registered voters in the southwest is about 18.4 million, Oyo and Lagos States carry about 10.5m from the southwest figure, that means, Oyo state and Lagos state must deliver at least 90 -95 percent of it.”
Chief Omodewu gave the assurance while speaking at the southwest meeting of a pro Asiwaju Bola Tinubu group, known as “Disciples Of Jagaban” (DOJ) held in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
The meeting had in attendance representatives of the group from Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos and Osun States.
Omodewu who expressed concern that two yoruba sons, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief MKO Abiola were denied the seat of power in 1963 and 1993 respectively, said it was high time people work for the victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu
While calling for women participation in politics, He appealed to the women wing of the group to encourage more women to be actively involved in politics.
“No doubt, We need women in politics and they have chances in politics, encourage other women to join you in the political space”
The Oyo APC chairman Used the opportunity to make passionate appeal to all aggrieved leaders in the state to shelve their swords in the interest of the party.
“There is no way there won’t be rancor, let’s settle whatever it is, unlike in the past that we didn’t have time to resolve our differences, we now have enough time to settle the difference, life is about give and take”
Meanwhile, the group’s National Coordinator, Comrade AbdulAkeem Adegoke said Disciples of Jagaban, DOJ was the first political movement that began mobilization for the actualization of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s 2023 presidential ambition.
He said it is important for Nigerians to have a clear understanding of their needs and wants, describing Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as a candidate Nigeria needs at the moment.
“There are somethings we need, we may not want it. In the case of Tinubu, Atiku and Obi, some people want Peter Obi but nobody need him, those who want Alhaji Abubakar Atiku want him but they don’t need him, those who don’t want Tinubu need him” Comrade Adegoke said
Comrade Adegoke said the presidential seat is not by political promises, but by what they have done in the past.
He further explained that “all of them have record, let’s visit their track records, Tinubu transformed what Lagos is today, Tinubu is a builder and a manager who will manage the resources of the country for the growth and development of all region.”
“Atiku knows Tinubu has the skill, Peter Obi knows he has the knowledge and that Tinubu is the best among them, but when politics happen, they don’t want to acknowledge his prowess” He Concluded
Also speaking, Women leader, Lagos state Disciples Of Jagaban, Alhaja Bajilaye Mutiat said the southwest DOJ was in Oyo state to canvas, mobilise and admonish more women to join the Asiwaju in his bid to become the next president of the Federal republic of Nigeria.
Alhaja Mutiat explained that women cannot afford to watch afar and expect things to change for better.
Southwest coordinator of the group, Hon Gbemileke Olawore said APC is lucky to have a presidential candidate like Asiwaju Tinubu who is competent and sellable.
