With Sterling Performances As Governor, Nigeria’s Future Is Bright Under Tinubu — Group

A frontline sociopolitical group, Omo Oyo Pataki has assured Nigerians that with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as president from 29 May, 2023 the future of the country becomes assured, consequently urging them to look beyond the inconveniences of the present, to a renewed hope that lies in the future.

Omo Oyo Pataki, in a release in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, lauded Asiwaju Tinubu for his consistency within the progressive fold, praising the Jagaban Borgu for promoting the ideals of progressivism, first frontline member of the pro-democracy struggle, then as governor of Lagos State, as leader of opposition, which eventually culminated in his promotion as National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Asiwaju Tinubu’s consistency within the progressive fold has not only set him apart as a trustworthy politician, but also elevated him into the pantheon of legends, who the people can commit their welfare and future to, in the belief he’ll not let them down.

“On the strength of Asiwaju’s sterling performance as governor of Lagos State, and the impeccable leadership recruitment drive that has seen him succeeded by men of great ideas and high intellect, we recommend him to Nigerians for the top job, for we know he’ll replicate those sterling qualities in Nigeria.

“As a group, we recall his environmental rejuvenation policies which turned the hitherto gory sight of Lagos, occasioned by pollution and coloured by the imminent fear of looming epidemic. His ingenuity in separating the ministry of environment from the ministry of physical planning, and as well as its consequent repositioning to combat flooding and coordinating waste management and disposal deserves commendation.

“Similarly, the free health policy for children under the age of 18 and adults above 65, subsidization of drugs for patients, as well as ensuring the safety of millions of Lagosians from sight problems under the Blindness Prevention Programme using free eye surgeries and glasses (Jigi Bola) distributed to patients for free, not forgetting the intensified enlightenment programme mounted by the Ministry of Health to reduce the scourge of HIV/AIDS, under the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency, have today become legacies in the Lagos State health sector.

“Others include the LASAMBUS Scheme, under which dozens of ambulances were provided to ease rescue operations, decentralisation of the health management board, revitalisation of the primary healthcare system, establishment of the Lagos State Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency to ensure quality assurance, establishment of the Hospital Services Commission and promotion of partnerships in health between the government and the private sector.

“Perhaps the most popular of Tinubu’s policy innovation is the “One Day Governor” through the annual spelling bee for secondary school students initiated by the New Era Foundation which was promoted by his wife, Oluremi Tinubu as first lady,” Omo Oyo Pataki added.

Maintaining that with the achievements of Asiwaju Tinubu visibly clear to all, and his campaign messages advertising him as a man of great ideas, vision and mission, the group said it can only urge the electorates to honour him with their votes come Saturday, 25 February, 2023 so he can be elected president to turnaround the fortunes of Nigeria.
