The Nigeria Police is now set to provide aerial security surveillance in Oyo state as a proactive measure against prevailing security challenges to ensure safety of lives and property.
Commissioner of Police, Oyo state command, Mr. Adebowale Williams who made this known during his maiden visit to the Durbar Area Command said the plan is in line with the Inspector General of Police idea of “visibility policing” aimed at confronting various security threats facing the people.
Against this backdrop, CP Williams enjoined policemen in Oyo Area Command not to relent in their professional duties, even as he called for greater synergy among sister security agencies and local vigilante groups.
Durbar Area Commander, Mr. Kadmiel Madayi and the P.C.R.C Chairman, Prince Rasheed Atanda took advantage of the occasion to intimate the Commissioner of Police with some of the challenges facing the command, such as shortage of personnel and operational vehicles.
