USAID Breakthrough-Action Nigeria Inaugurates Oyo Media Coalition For SBC Health Communication Group Executives
United States Agency International Development, USAID Breakthrough Action-Nigeria, a leading development partner in health promotion and advocacy on Malaria, Tuberculosis and other infectious diseases in Nigeria has inaugurated a Media Coalition for Social and Behavior Change, SBC, in Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Oyo states.
Members of the coalition are media partners with whom Breakthrough Action-Nigeria had worked with as it implemented innovative health approaches for a healthier Nigeria.
For Oyo state, Mrs Jemeelah Elegbede of state broadcasting station, BCOS was inaugurated as state coordinator and Oladapo Okunubi of Solutions FM as assistant coordinator.
Radio Nigeria correspondent and publisher Newsarena.ng, Mosope Kehinde was inaugurated as state documentation officer while Adetoke Olaleye, also from BCOS became the assistant documentation officer.
Objectives of this coalition are to continue airing key messages on Tuberculosis (TB), Malaria, and infectious diseases like COVID-19, Lassa fever, Yellow fever, Diphtheria, Rabies, and more.
Others include, educating the public on disease prevention practices and supporting disease detection in communities.
While sharing pictures of members of the Media Coalition on SBC, breakthrough Action Nigeria posted on X and its social media platforms “We are proud of this coalition, and the strides members will take to sustain health messaging in Nigeria. Kudos!”
