Former Director General of Oyo state Liaison Office in Abuja and Lagos, Wale Ajani felicitates Muslims Ummah over this year’s Eid-el Kabir celebration.
He urged Muslims not to forget the significance of the celebration which he said is sacrifice and selflessness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
A felicitation message by the former aide to Governor Seyi Makinde on Wednesday afternoon indicates that there is more to learn from the celebration than just the merriment and fanfare.
He noted that Oyo state and Nigeria at large are at a threshold of transition that cuts across all spheres of the economy and Nigerians must brace up to renew their resolve towards sacrifice and selflessness in their dispositions to government policies and programs.
He also expressed his felicitation to the Deputy Goernor, Barrister Adebayo Abdulroheem Lawal, who is currently on holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, wishing him and all pilgrims a safe return.
In his words, “sacrifice, offering’ or ‘oblation’ are the core significance of Eid-el Kabir. This was clearly exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim in the Holy Quran.
