Sunday Bisi has been elected the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Chairman in Osun State.
This followed an affirmation by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on Wednesday after Sunday Bisi was elected at the State Congress held at Osun Township Stadium, Osogbo, the state capital.
Delegates from the three hundred and thirty two wards elected all the thirty-nine officials unopposed.
Addressing party stalwarts and delegates before the commencement of the exercise, Governor Ademola Adeleke urged PDP members to unite behind the new leadership to build a formidable party.
In his acceptance speech , the new Chairman, Mr Sunday Bisi emphasized that his leadership would assiduously work to unite all the party members.
Mr Bisi sought the cooperation of members across board to build a party united and formidable party, with a promise that he will promote fairness,equity and justice
Earlier, the Chairman for the Osun PDP State Congress, Dr Samuel Omotoso from Ekiti State appealed to delegates to conduct themselves peacefully.
Similarly, the caretaker chairman of the party Dr Adekunle Akindele lauded members of the party for the support given him while he held sway in office.
