Tribune’s Correspondent, Akinselure Shines At 2023 NMM Awards
...Emerges 1st Runner-up In Political Reporter of the Year Category
Nigerian Tribune’s Assistant News Editor, Mr Wale Akinselure has emerged the first runner-up in the Political Reporter of the year category in the Nigeria Media Merit Award (NMMA) 2023 held on Sunday.
Akinselure is currently the Tribune’s Correspondent attached to the press crew of the Oyo state governor and the state house of assembly.
At the award ceremony held at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, Wale Akinselure’s entry titled: “Will Youths make their number count this time?” was second best in the category of the Lateef Jakande Prize for Political Reporter of the year.
The category was won by Emmanuel Oladesu, the Group Politics Editor of the Nation newspaper with his entry titled: “2023 census can Nigeria get it right?”
In another contest held on Thursday, Akinselure emerged winner of the maiden edition of the Tribune Got Talent competition.
The talent display show, curated by the entertainment desk of daily and weekend titles in collaboration with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Tribune Chapel was held at the Tribune house, Ibadan.
Akinselure was declared winner across three stages after superbly rendering songs like Asiko laye, Onidodo, You Raise me up and The prayer.
In his remark, the winner, Wale Akinselure, expressed gratitude to God for the feat.
He specially appreciated the organisers, co-contestants, staff and management of the Nigerian Tribune for the success of the event.
Bunmi Ishola of the editorial department (daily), emerged first runner-up while Famuwagun Temidayo of the auditing department, emerged second runner-up.
