The Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential campaign council acknowledged a mistake the appointment of Senator Chimaroke Nnamani as a member of the campaign council.
A member of the council, and one of the spokesmen, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, clarified in a conversation with newsmen that the person who should have been listed is the previous Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani.
Senator Chimaroke Nnamani is a PDP chieftain who represents the Enugu East Senatorial District and who is a supporter of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate.
Mr. Onanuga expressed regret about the confusion and suggested that it might have been caused by the fact that Chimaroke, who has the same last name as Ken, is also a well-known politician from Enugu.
“It is a mistake. Ken Nnamani ought to be the one,” he stated.
Prior to the clarification, a staff member for Senator Chimaroke Nnamani advised that the announcement be disregarded.
“Chimaroke is a PDP Senator. He has a PDP re-election ticket. How can he be in Tinubu’s campaign council? Please, ignore it “
