Suspects Plead For Leniency As Police Parade Alleged Criminals In Ibadan

According to Mr. Adebowale Williams, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, the Command has efficiently maximized its operational balance by using a number of procedures to protect the citizens’ lives and property.

The police commissioner made this statement while parading several alleged offenders via the state’s police public relations officer, Mr. Adewale Osifeso.

In addition to the full adoption of robust community policing strategies, smart inter-agency collaboration, visibility policing, mass patrolling strategy, technology-driven policing strategy, and respect for Oyo State residents’ rights, according to Mr. Williams, measures have been taken to prevent crimes.

The police boss stated further that the Crusade against Crime and criminality had remained unwavering especially with the visible recoveries of firearms through intelligence-led stop and search patrols as well as arrest of armed robbery suspects.

The police commissioner noted that mopping up of criminal elements from the streets through strategic raids and effective deployments around critical infrastructures especially INEC facilities, Telecommunication Base Stations, Banks, Correctional facilities, campaign grounds, schools and public spaces were part of efforts at clamping down on criminal elements and other related offenses.

He added that all the suspects ,who are arrested for various offences ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, cultism among others would be charge to court after proper investigations.

While speaking with newsmen, the suspects who confessed to the crime levelled against them pleaded for leniency and promised to turn a new leaf if pardoned.
