A large number of tourists from all over the world are anticipated to attend the 2022 World Twins Festival in Igboora, Oyo State, together with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
This is stated in a statement jointly signed by Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye, the founders of Twins Tourism.
According to the statement provided to reporters on Friday in Ibadan, the celebration was intended to honor unusual creatures and other multiple births from all walks of life.
“Twinning for World Economic Recovery” is the festival’s theme for its 2022 iteration.
It is an annual event conducted in Igboora, which is known for having the highest number of living multiple births worldwide and is meant to celebrate the uniqueness of multiple births.
According to the statement, the festival’s 2022 edition would be the first to take place following the passing of late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo, who served as both its grand patron and a frequent participant.
According to the statement, the event would honor the late Oba Adeyemi in particular because he was the father of several sets of twins and a set of triplets.
The statement said that the Olu of Igboora, Oba Jimoh Titiloye would lead all the traditional rulers in the town to welcome all and sundry to the special occasion.
It said that the event would feature twins fashion show, twins parade, talent show, festival art exhibition, circus performance and regular features of twins cuisines among others.
The statement said that the event scheduled to hold on October 8 at the event arena of Methodist Grammar School in Igboora, was welcome back from the COVID-19 pandemic which ravaged the entire world.
It called on brands and corporate organizations to activate sponsorship as well as brand promotion at the festival adjudged to be the biggest of its kind.
