Senator Alli Eulogises Former Methodist Church Prelate, Sunday Makinde at 80
Senator Sharafadeen Alli(APC-Oyo South) has extended his warmest felicitations to the former Methodist Church Prelate, Sunday Makinde, as he celebrates 80th birthday.
This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan.
Alli described the celebrant as a true servant of God, who has made tremendous contributions to the growth and development of the Christian faith in Nigeria.
The lawmaker said that his dedication, commitment and selflessness in the service of God as well as humanity are evident in the many lives he has touched positively.
“This is a remarkable milestone, and it is an honour to join in celebrating such a great man who has made tremendous contributions to the growth and development of the Christian faith in Nigeria
“The former Prelate Makinde is a shining example of a true servant of God. His dedication, commitment, and selflessness in the service of God and humanity are evident in the many lives he has touched positively, ” he said.
He said that Makinde has inspired and mentored several people in the Christian faith, adding his impact would continue to be felt by generations to come.
Alli said that the leader of the Methodist Church in Nigeria has continued to provide exemplary leadership which had helped to strengthen the church and promote its growth.
The lawmaker said that Makinde has led the church with great wisdom and set a standard that has earned the admiration of many in the Christian community.
He added that Makinde’s contributions to the Nigerian society was beyond the church, saying he has been a voice for the voiceless, championing the cause of the marginalised and downtrodden.
Alli said that his advocacy for social justice, peace, and unity has earned him respect and admiration among Nigerians from all walks of life.
“As Senator representing Oyo South, I join in celebrating this great man of God whose life has impacted many.
“I pray that God will continue to grant him good health, wisdom, and grace as he continues to work tirelessly for the betterment of the Christian faith in Nigeria and the society at large.
“Once again, congratulations on this special occasion, Prelate Makinde. May your light continue to shine brightly, and may God bless you abundantly,” he said.
