Remaining Ibadan Kidnapped Victims Regain Freedom

The remaining three persons reportedly kidnapped last Thursday at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, CRIN, Ibadan, have regained their freedom.

A reliable source, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that two of the victims were released shortly after the abduction due to health concerns.

According to the source, the remaining three victims were freed in the early hours of Saturday after allegedly paying an undisclosed sum as ransom.

It was gathered that the kidnappers had initially demanded one hundred million naira but later settled for an undisclosed amount following negotiations.

Confirming the release, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said the victims have re-united with their families.
