Quest To Secure Continental Ticket Is Paramount – 3SC • Reacts To Rumor Over Unpaid Salaries Of Players
The management of Shooting Star Sport Club (3SC) has debunk rumours making the rounds that the club is owing its player salaries and match bonuses
Executive Chairman, Mr. Babatunde Olaniyan stated this at the club office, Maja Akinola Street, Jericho GRA, Ibadan.
Mr. Olaniyan gave performance appraisal of 3SC during the first stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League where the club played a total of 18 matches with 6 wins, 5 draws and 7 losses.
He acknowledged that the performance was not good enough but promised that the team will improve in the second stanza of the league.
He said the quest to secure a continental ticket is paramount to the board as well as the coaching crew and players. He also said a petition has been written to the football authority on the shambolic performance of Joseph Ogabor, the centre referee of the match between 3SC and Enyimba FC, and that the said referee should not be appointed to refer any match involving the club again, whether home or away.
On the conduct of the fans, he implored the media to sensitize fans that “it’s a game and you can’t win every time and if a game doesn’t go your way, violence is not the answer.
He appeal to fans to not damage the facilities of the stadium as well as personal properties of officials as it is the club that will be responsible for the repair or replacement.
On sponsorship, Mr Olaniyan said “There are lot of things that comes with it, it is like when you want to invest in a team, investor will want to know in which area you want them to come in and what you have on ground and what you are bringing to the table”.
He further stated that there is a couple of discussion ongoing and a memorandum of understanding was signed with an organization for sponsorship in the second stanza of the league.
He concluded by pleading for support from all stakeholders to actualize the dreams and aspirations of the team to clinch a continental ticket and take 3SC to an enviable height.
