Protesters In Ogbomoso Issue 30 Days Ultimatum To Federal, State Govts
Following the recent deplorable condition of a portion of the Ogbomoso expressway in Oyo state, some youths have protested against the untold hardship motorists face on the road thereby issuing a 30-day ultimatum to the Federal and Oyo State governments to address the issue.
Some youths, including the students, under the National Association of University Students and Ogbomoso Indigenous Associations in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, on Saturday took to the streets to protest the dilapidated condition of the route for commuters travelling between the North and Southwest.
Speaking, on behalf of the protesters at the Saki Roundabout in Ogbomoso, the Vice President of NAUS, Mr Tiamiyu Olayinka, frowned at the tragic loss of lives caused by frequent accidents on the route.
They warned that failure to meet their demands would lead to more demonstrations and economic losses.
They also implored the Federal Ministry of Works and relevant authorities to speedy up work to Complete the Ibadan-Ogbomoso Road project to give succor to affected businesses and residents.
