Adewumi Adewale, an alleged armed robber, has been captured by Nigerian police in Ejigbo, Osun State.
Adewale, the suspect, was apprehended while attempting to rob Yusuf Kazeem, a POS operator, of the amount of 2.8 million naira. He was said to have come from Iyana church area in Ibadan.
A police source in Ejigbo confirmed the arrest, saying that Adewumi Adewale was taken into custody after residents in the Sasa Eku Osoolo area of the local government called the police to report an attempted kidnapping and robbery at around ten o’clock on Monday night.
The source maintained that the suspect attempted to engage the officers but was eventually overpowered.
The police source however said the suspect had been taken to Osogbo area command for onward investigation and prosecution.
