On Sunday 9th July, 2023 at about half past two in the morning, property worth millions of naira were destroyed following a fire incident that gutted Gold FM ilesa, Osun State.
Gold FM, Ilesa is one Radio Nigeria’s FM stations established in the southwest.
According to reports, the inferno which started around 2:30 in the morning badly affected the transmitter room.
It was also gathered that it took the combined intervention of staff on night duty and people living around the radio station to curtail the fire from spreading to other parts of the broadcasting house before the arrival of men of the federal fire service about 3:3O in the morning.
According to report, no life was lost in the inferno and that the cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
It would be recalled that Gold FM was gutted by fire on 3rd February, 2018.
