Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has inaugurated a committee on review of civil and public service rules to enable the service evolve thoroughly for efficiency and optimal performance
The Governor who inaugurated the committee at the executive council chambers of the Governor’s office explained that the committee was expected to synergize old experiences and contemporary standard practices to form new rules that would transform the service.
While noting that the current Oyo state civil and public service rules were last reviewed in 2013, Governor Makinde stressed that no successful administration would allow its civil and public services drive policies of government without proper rules of engagement
He also tasked the committee to duly consider areas of conflicts or need for domestication between federal civil and public service rules and the state rules to create a reasonable pathway.
The committee which was chaired by the former head of service and secretary to the state, Chief Adebisi Adesola, comprised representatives from the association of retired permanent secretaries and head of services, representatives from ministries department and agencies, representatives of the labour unions, representatives from private consulting amongst others.
