The Executive Chairman, Akinyele Local Government Hon. Taoheed Jimoh Adegdigba has handed over working equipment to all security Agencies within the Local Government Area
The beneficiaries were Nigeria Army 2 Mechanised Division, Odogbo Oojo, Nigeria Police Force, Akinyele, Moniya, Igbooloyin, Ikereku, Oojo, Department of State Security (DSS) Moniya, Civil Defence Corps, Igbooloyin, Moniya, Oojo Kajorepo, Nigeria Correctional Service, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Nigeria Customs Services, Immigration, Vigilante, Soludero and Amotekun for their effectiveness in ensuring that the life and properties of citizens were adequately protected.
This was demonstrated during official handing-over of new brand motocycles, new brand Motorolla walking-talking (10 kilometer radius) brand new Laptops with printers, brand new Generators and financial aid to ensure effective war against crime.
Hon. Taoreed Jimoh Adedigba revealed that one of the Sole responsibilities of any elected officers is to ensure adequate protection of live and properties of
Electorates from any external force and see to it that the whole communities is free from any criminal acts which in turn create atmosphere for economic growth.
In his word, the council boss, reiterated the harmonious relationships between the security agencies and the Local Government and to celebrate their professionalism and tireless effort in curbing the crime and forstall peaceful and safe environment where citizen can be rest assured that life and properties are well protected.
Hon. Adedigba stressed that, since living in peace is one of the Cardinal agenda of the pace-setter state under the leadership of Executive Governor of Oyo State,
His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde, the Local Government also leverage on the agenda for making Akinyele Local Government to a zero free zone for Criminal acts.
The council Chairman acknowledge that in our world today, criminal acts as become the normal norms which some of our teamed youth engaged in diverse of it, which has speed through nooks and crannies of our country, and for us at the grassroots, we are working very hard to curb any form of unrest within our villages and communities under our watch.
Hon. Adedigba urged all the security agencies that society is expecting much from them and government will not relent in her efforts by providing necessary equipments. He was hopeful that this is first face of the distribution of security equipments while the second face is awaiting and urging citizens to be watchdog of their various communities by reporting any suspected persons or forms of crime, within themselves “if you see something, say something”.
Hon Taoheed Jimoh Adedigba concluded by appreciating the Executive Government of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde (FNSE) for the privilege and opportunity given to him to serve his people in this capacity and to Hon Segun Olayiwole, Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and chieftaincy matter for the time-to-time support of the progress of the Akinyele Local Government.
While responding to the good gesture of the chairman, the DPO Akinyele, Division appreciating the support received and assured citizen of better communities policing.
